Aston Martin One-77

Based upon the 6.0 litre V12 used by the DB9, DBS and V12 Vantage, Aston Martin contracted engine development out to renowned tuning company Cosworth, who bumped capacity to 7.3 litres, reduced mass by a whopping 25 percent and delivered an engine capable of a monstrous 522kW (700hp).

Hooked up to the V12’s crankshaft is a robotised six-speed sequential manual, which can change gear automatically, or manually via a pair of steering wheel-mounted paddles. Built specifically for the One-77, the new gearbox is stronger than Aston Martin’s previous units.

Precise performance figures are still a mystery, but Aston reckon’s the One-77 will sprint from zero to 96km/h in around 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 320km/h (200mph).
